Research

Research at Duxford Aviation Society Museum

The Museum holds a nationally significant collection of aircraft and archival materials which provide unique insights into developments in the British airline industry, technology and engineering, and social history from the end of the Second World War to the present day.

We are committed to encouraging and supporting research into our collections.

Our Own Research

Our staff and volunteers undertake research which helps us to deliver Museum projects. These include improving the quality of our catalogues and enhancing our on-site interpretation. We also draw on our research to provide public talks, lectures and publications. In the future our knowledge will also feed into learning programmes.

Current research projects include Concorde 101, the Comet and Dove aircraft and their heritage. If you would like to get involved, contact us on email at office@das.org.uk.

We are happy to answer questions from the public about our collections for private research. Please note that we are unable to provide valuations. We aim to acknowledge your enquiry within one week of receipt and to provide a response within four weeks.
